Thank you for visiting the Middletown F.O.P. #53 website. We would like to welcome all new membership and encourage anyone interested to contact us.  In order for us to continue having a successful lodge, be reminded that membership participation plays a vital role. Atttention Membership
Four members of the Executive Board went to the State Convention that was held in Myrtle Beach, to protest the proposed increase in dues, to $52 per year. Others, also, spoke against the increase but there was only limited success. The increase was modified, for 2011, to $35, in lieu of the $52. However, in 2012, the increase will be the full amount that was proposed ($52.00).
As a result of the increases, on the state level, the Lodge dues will have to increase. In 2011, the dues for an Active/Retired member will be $100 and in 2012, it will be $125.
We are aware that this increase may result in the loss of some of our membership but this increase was not by choice and we had no control over it. We expressed our opposition and voted against it but we were definitely outnumbered. As a result, the increase passed, with the aforementioned slight modification.
